Honestly, no. It’s honestly better for a Republican to win than an anti-trans Democrat. The greatest threat to trans people is that both parties slide into transphobia. That’s a loss that will take generations to reverse. You’re only worried about tomorrow and the next election. I’m worried about decades into the future. Anti-trans Democrats are far, far more dangerous to trans people than Republicans. Currently we have two sides, one for us, one against us, and they battle it out, and we still have a chance. If both sides go transphobe, then we lose no matter who wins. If you’re not trans, I don’t expect you to understand this. But this is one area where cis people need to check their privilege and stop lecturing minority groups with their hot takes about how they should advocate for themselves. Have some humility and realize maybe you don’t know what’s best for groups you’re not a part of.
