@liztai@hachyderm.io I respect your opinion - it is strange that the only thing Greek is the scenery! I had just wanted to add another angle. As I was walking to a coffee shop with my little one, it did strike me that there is a dark side to the blind racial casting in British media. It is a bit rich that the former imperial power who controlled 1/4 of the world (and with some pretty racist views) saying that race in casting does not matter. Might partially explain the tone deafness of Nolan et al.

    @seanbala@mas.to there's a fine line to blind casting - for example Kenneth Branaghs Much Ado About Nothing is one of my favs and it used blind casting to an extend. It doesn't bother me as Shakespeare's works is truly fiction etc. but the Greeks consider the Odyssey a piece of history, and not fiction, and that should be respected even if many think it's fiction. (It's not as Troy does exists!)
