@firebreathingduck@social.vivaldi.net The era of tech hypergrowth is over, and rich people who got addicted to amazing returns from the S&P 500 are desperately trying to find something—anything—that exhibits the same explosive growth that they saw during the zero-interest era post 2008. They tried crypto and NFT, and when that popped, they pivoted to AI. When this AI bubble pops, they’ll probably pivot to quantum computers and things like small-scale nuclear power generators next. The reality is of course there is no such thing as infinite exponential growth in a finite world. The sooner we regulate away hyper-wealth, the better.

  • @drahardja@sfba.social Agreed on all points. But again, I don't think most of these people have all of their eggs in the AI basket. Some do, just like some lost their fortunes on NFTs.
