@psneeze It’s not an entirely uncommon event (to redesignate a runway). If I have it correct, Heathrow’s two parallel runways were redesignated in 1987 for the same reason.

@guardeddon Yes, it has to be done for all runways every so many years. The "so many years" though is a lot of years so it's not often we get to witness it. That said, Casement Aerodrome's was redesignated in 2019 so if runway redesignation is your hobby you're blessed.
