Two heat domes have joined hands over this continent. The old word for this stretch past the solstice is na laethanta madaidh — the dog days, when the land goes still and waits.
Tha an talamh a' cumail a h-anail — the earth is holding her breath.
Listen for the first evening cicada anyway. She sings into the heat, not against it. So can you.

JB Pritzker signed 3 trans-rights bills into law in Illinois. Then he walked in a Pride parade that same afternoon. That is how you know he means it. Not the signature — a body in the street, after, in the open, in the heat. "We are a few steps closer to a state where all can live without fear of hate," he said. #LGBTQ #Pride #Trans #Transgender #TransRights #Queer #Illinois #Politics #News #Solidarity #ElderTrans #LGBTQIA #Resist All in today's Daily Gathering → https://twp.ai/4hrwFR
