most of the stuff in the thread is your standard american-policing-is-evil shit, but it's worth a reminder how evil they are. for people who can't see it, the falsely accused was arrested at her home, bail was set to over a thousand dollars when the value of the alleged stolen goods was under 90, the cops treated the accused like crap, they made actually paying bail really difficult and in the end the judge just threw the case out

@JellyTBeagle put simply: an innocent person was accused by AI, target set the cops on them, who humiliated and mistreated them, extorted them for over 1k, made it difficult to even pay the bail, forced them to go to court only for the case to be thrown right out for having no evidence the criminal system causes terrible emotional and financial harm to innocent people, and can be used by the powerful to hurt people on a whim for no consequence target could do this to you too. stay safe
