one of my few gripes with Rust's cargo build tool/package manager/floor wax/dessert topping is that there's no real great support for post-build actions like bundling or god forbid actually installing something onto your operating system
enter the xtask pattern

xtask is not a library or utility or anything, it's a just a convention. you add a binary crate to your workspace named xtask and you set up this alias in your .cargo/config.toml: [alias] xtask = "run --package xtask --"
