There is forgiveness, and there is trust. One doesn't need to mean another. You may forgive someone, you may understand their reasons, and you may still not trust them, and you may still not interact with them.
The forgiveness is for you, so you won't be eaten by bitterness. But if they want to regain the trust, it's for them to work on it. And how much of the work, it's for you to decide, not for them. And if you wish so, you may decide that no amount of work will make you to grant them any trust.
And never, ever, allow yourself to be talked into, that forgiveness means trust. If they try this shit, it means they want to manipulate you. Which means, they still didn't done their homework.
On the other hand. It might happen than you land on the other side of the equation. We are all humans after all. Look into yourself. Accept the blame. Apologise. And try to be a better self. And again. And again. And again. I can guarantee you, you will fail. And if you ask, how I am so sure about that? Well, I am a human after all. And I am making mistakes. Some of them I regret. Some of them I would like to unhappen. Don't mull over them too much. Try to improve. Don't give up on yourself.
Take care, you all, and love yourselves 💜
