Paying yearly fees to work is nothing new for professionals and other workers. Even company truck drivers pay annual fees, and owner operators face far more expernses.

@TrueNorthSpice@mastodon.world Yes, it's basically the bit of paper that lets employers and customers know that you can do your job, and most come with a set of ethical principles that members must abide by. This last part is what's largely missing from the privately-operated certification schemes. @PGBeattie@mastodonapp.uk
