There’s the TNG episode where Data wins finger games by stop playing to win, play to stalemate. I stopped playing to win, found winning move in Sampson maneuver, which unentangled me from my primordial Karma. I took the debt on myself and it absolved the debt for us all.

Nothing can or exists out of balance. You may perceive, now, that you achieved a higher, better, long lasting outcome for all parts you intended to help but, and as someone who seems very interested in the concept of karma, please remember that one’s karma is theirs to repay, be it now or later. It is not a material balance able to be shifted to a third party.
