@dandylover1@someplace.social Just to give you a clearer idea of nail length. Usually they say around 1 to 2mm past the fingertip, but 3 to 5mm for the thumbnail. So not really that crazy long, but perhaps long enough to be a problem as you've described. And that's only on the plucking hand. For the fretting hand the nails should be as short as possible.
I play multiple instruments, and the happy medium for me is equal to the fingertip.

@cassana@the-crossroads-inn.com I don't know anything about mm, but if it's relatively short, that's a good thing. I do know it's only one hand, though. But it might be difficult to maintain. I have no idea. Thank you for explaining. I like to learn new things.
