@plzupgrademe@fedi.txw.ca @fahrni@curmudgeon.cafe Here in Brazil we mostly haven’t had LTE. I think I ever saw the LTE indicator when roaming, so maybe once or twice, so I wasn’t aware that it was a 4G. We mostly only see “4G” or “5G”. Even GPRS is still available as last resort in some areas.

@klangoso@ursal.zone @fahrni@curmudgeon.cafe thank you for teaching me about Brazil! Even within a country, different operators have different rules for what they have the phone present. Depending on where I am in the world and what operator I’m on, I’ve seen my phone say 5G, 5G+, 4G, 4G+, LTE, and LTE+. But yeah, LTE is 4G, totally fine to not be familiar with it 🙂 GPRS networks have been decommissioned in Canada over a decade ago in order to re-purpose the spectrum.
