What a time to be alive? Rouge AI agents attack RubyGems {dot} org. Attacks by AI agents from several developers have raised alarm.

There is nothing "rogue" about these agents as they were coded to do this on purpose and it was intentional. That is how i see it. At least that is what I think, unless these bots have taken over job of hackers. LOL

@nixCraft@mastodon.social Anthropic & OpenAI both said that their agents escaped containment in order to achieve the goal and sometimes hacking an entity is seen as the easiest way. Why would you run an experiment and then just leave it running over the weekend? This is the kind of irresponsible behavior that we've been warned about for years!
