Some of the rules for tea made historical sense (for example, when drinking from fine china, pouring cold milk in first then tea avoided thermal shock that would break the expensive cups and then got repeated as the 'correct' way of preparing tea). But the white sugar for tea and not brown? I can't even begin to imagine why that would ever have been a thing, except maybe that white sugar was more expensive and so using white sugar showed that you had more money than sense? I now really want to know the history of that rule and whether it really is that stupid.
Anyway, if someone really wants to know how to brew tea, ISO has you covered. ISO 3103 is right there.
