Pixelfed has been using the MastoAPI since 2019, and while it allowed us to support Mastodon clients, now we have our own app, we've added a query param `_pe` that we use in our webUI and mobile app to return a more optimized resource shape, while preserving the Mastodon structure. Even though we're at the stage where we could deprecate the MastoAPI, we understand that many people enjoy using Mastodon clients, so we will continue to support it. Long live open APIs 🚀
