Naïve suggestion to reduce the usage of large language models and the damage that they do: When the user asks to do something really stupid for which LLMs shouldn't be used, the LLM will refuse. For example: Email. Birthday greeting. Homework. An image of a pizza, a kitten, or a business meeting. Dare I say, a description of a thing about which there is a @wikipedia@wikis.world article. It could actually work, which is why no one will implement it.

I'm not in the radical camp that says that LLMs must not be used for anything. But I am appalled by the frequency with which people use them for things that they could do quite well before LLMs became popular. Like, "Write an email to ask my professor to submit homework later" is totally awful. "I wrote an email to ask my professor to submit homework later, please check it for grammar mistakes and politeness" is unnecessary, but a bit less awful.
