I have an idea.
Straight up capture all but 100 million of every single fortune over 1 billion dollars and tell the people who hoarded that money they can be happy with the hundred million or they can see us happy when the steel drops.
Take that money and split it between a fund that handles healthcare and housing for every person in the US, citizen or no.
That would fix a lot of things on its own and should leave a few bucks left over.

But its not ‘real’ cash, its what the owner of it could/can raise against the collateral in today’s market. So you can’t just go and grab it. In fact, if you started grabbing the mythical wealth it would be worth less… It may even become worth nothing (or at least less than it cost to seize)… “Oh noes, the feds are taking Elon’s stock… Quick sell it all 11!!1” price crashes, Fed end up owning paper not cash.
