The Earth’s been rotating faster lately. A negative leap-second was not built-into the timekeeping machinery.

UTC would be unlikely to diverge from rotational time by a full hour for at least a thousand years, Shemar said. If humankind lasts that long, it might be the least of our worries. ® Lol.
