@david_chisnall@infosec.exchange @foone@digipres.club I would also like to confirm that I too have never done this. In particular last week I did not do this.

@david_chisnall@infosec.exchange @foone@digipres.club Yeah, I have the T-shirt.😌 Good practice is to always change/add log statements and check they show up. Especially when you make a patch for someone to test on their own system.

Been there, done that. One of my standard recommendations is: make sure you can make a change and see the effect - even if that change& effect is to make things even more broken. You just want to prove that the tool chain is working. @david_chisnall@infosec.exchange @foone@digipres.club

@david_chisnall@infosec.exchange @foone@digipres.club I would never ever do this for let's say six hours. And then asking a second person for help, starting to explain: “so this is… oh, wait!” The title of my talk is: “How I spent a whole day when my rubber duck was on holiday”

@david_chisnall@infosec.exchange @foone@digipres.club My usual m.o. is to not realise that the program has created a new empty database file on a completely different path, then I wonder why it can't find any of my records.
