Why do I find social media exhausting?
Me: *Posts or responds innocently or jokingly, gets a favorite or two, may get an enjoyable comment or two*
Angry Commenter 1: *Finds the most negative way to take it and responds with haughty arrogance*
Angry Commenter 2: "This mentioned some obscure thing 99.942% of the population find innocuous but I take offense to. It should have a CW!"
Angry Commenter 3: *Finds a way to bring gender/race into the conversation such that I'm a horrible person because I am a CIS white man and they want me to know I'm not welcome to live let alone voice an opinion*
Angry Commenter 4: "BUT GENOCIDE!
Sub-tooter: "I can't believe some people respond innocently or jokingly and expect to get away with it."
The saddest part is I am talking about Mastodon which is the place I have the best experiences.
Why do people have to be like this? This is why we can't have nice things.

@wulfric@beige.party Lots of people to block or mute, that's for sure. And on some of this I quite concur, the tone policing or bizarre over reactions to nothing are a little too prevalent, and I suspect those involved just don't see that being those kinds of warriors isn't helpful, it's a huge turn-off. I do enjoy the positive people.
