You know what annoys me? People saying to LGBT+ folks to just be "invisible." Telling someone to “be invisible” is rarely a neutral request. It places the entire burden of social harmony on the marginalized group, requiring them to hide who they are to make others comfortable. ”invisible" means adhering to whatever they consider the default or “standard” social norm. anything outside that is “special treatment.” celebrating our existence with pride and then saying it’s “calling attention to themselves," as if the goal is to be looked at rather than to simply exist openly. This is strictly NOT about you. Why do you make it about you?

    @Khosumi@cyberfurz.social Sadly people use minorities to justify themselves and use as moral grand standing. It’s why it’s important for any minority to group themselves together, not hide, and push against narratives that people make up to push against their existence. #pride #lgbt #lgbtq #lgbtqia
