Is your power grid really that bad that you even consider a generator? I have only small UPS boxes for the "important" stuff. I live in Europe, and our power is at most a few seconds/year down. The only time when it’s down longer is when there is some planned maintenance (replacement for the power meter).

@Mpwg@hachyderm.io The US is a big place with a lot of variations in infrastructure availability and reliability. I can’t even remember the last time I lost power, but that’s not true for everyone in the US. (People who vote against their own collective interests tend to get worse government services, for example.)
