@jaz@toot.wales @jmaris@eupolicy.social @hpod16@eupolicy.social I am concerned about EU digital sovereignty: This app creates dependence on Android/iOS. Everyone using the internet will need to have a phone from those foreign ecosystems. Alternative phones already struggle to work with banking or authentication apps often @ubports@mastodon.social ๐ฉ๐ช@murena@mastodon.social ๐ซ๐ท@iode@mastodon.online ๐ซ๐ท @jolla@techhub.social ๐ซ๐ฎ (and many others), now if there will be 27 implementations by different countries of https://ageverification.dev/ , then some may not work with alternatives. Hopefully I won't need to go back under AdTech surveillance (install traditional OS) to continue use the internet, if Lithuania don't work to support EU phone alternatives. EU Commission should financially support European companies which develop these alternatives, these OS makers should collaborate together to be supported, and EU have a mandatory rule for countries to support EU alternatives as well.
