I just spent another hour and a half cleaning after the builders as there are no doors between our loft and first floor and the air is unbreathable, thick with sawdust and gypsum. I did about 3/4 of the rooms, same as yesterday, because the last quarter has our rain protection plastic on the floor which is too light to be hoovered. Tomorrow I will bag it up as is. I hope they appreciated it but doubt it: not sure how they can work in such mess, but that's their problem. What strikes me is the

... waste. I hate this world we have created where all is cheap so people think it has no value and where everything is easily bought, so can as easily be thrown away. These are some of the screws that came under the hoover and I picked them up for them, although I doubt they will be used again, what with the nail- and the screwguns, which incidentally produce a fair amount of plastic waste. This goes on every day in myriads of places... but I still remember on my first and only visit to Dublin
