So, uh, job search update: About a month ago now, I pleaded on mastodon for help. I didn’t really have a goal in mind. I was just miserable at work, not getting paid enough to do too much work. I posted a big long, rambling post that ended with, effectively, “will someone please help me” A lot of you reached out, actually. It was a truly overwhelming outpouring of help. And I _definitely_ got overwhelmed by it. I’m sure I dropped at least a few opportunities right on the floor. If you’ve been waiting to hear from me and haven’t, I am truly sorry. Today I just filled out the forms to start a new job, and it happened because someone reached out to me after reading my post. My first day is in a little less than a month. On top of it being a welcome escape from my current position, it happens to be _literally_ a dream job of mine. #getFediHired works. If you’re on here, and you’re losing hope, know that it works. There is a way out for you. You’re not in this alone. If you’re not trying to get out of your current job, or you’re not actively looking, I urge you to check out the hashtag anyway. Boost folks. Send them leads. It works.
