The short version is everybody was very nice. They printed out a paper form so I could amend it and sign it and then they scanned it in
The computer system was so actively hostile to this workaround though that none of the allergies and medicines associated with my record carried over, so the medical assistant and I had to enter them all from scratch in the exam room

I don't consent to AI medical transcription and, as I suspected, my provider doesn't even use it and wouldn't know where to begin. However, all the forms come from the affiliated hospital system with the fancy purple and rainbow logo. And it is they who have created this data entry workflow that ensures most everybody will sign off on the use of a whole litany of AI things, including medical transcription, whether they want it or not This is not consent
