@sinabhfuil@mastodon.ie having read all his books, true grit shares themes but I don’t relate as much to a Cowboy story. I wouldn’t consider True Grit to be macho chicklit. The protagonist and story is centred around a strong young woman. The portrayals of manhood are rather varied between the men in the story, so I wouldn’t consider it singularly macho.
