@apicultor@hachyderm.io @reverseics@infosec.exchange You can’t beat the actual security brought by the consistent and timely patching in OPNsense, no matter how many marketing muscles are flexed and how many YouTubers “with no affiliation whatsoever” you have on your payroll one way or another. “Updates will be released when ready, else use the development version ” is not what you want to hear from the vendor that is supposed to be protecting your perimeter. People need to be educated about that. Glorifying the past is not an excuse for presenting a security solution that is either already behind current patches or using alpha grade software from upstream for months before it reaches GA.
