I’m from the Midwest. Rural areas People seemed to think that because he was rich, it must mean he’s smart and God loves him. Why else would be be rich ? And many told me they genuinely believed we needed a smart rich business man to get this country back on track of being rich. So they could be richer. It’s this shallow idea that if someone is rich. They must deserve it. And know what they are going. And will make the rest of us rich if we just follow along. That and they didn’t like that they could say what they wanted in the work place or in public about their bigoted views. They felt that just wasn’t fair. They should be able to say sexist and racist things because everyone knows it’s all true. (Their opinions not mine). This information was from people planning to vote from him before the election. I didn’t care to talk to anyone about it afterwards.
