If you use an LLM for work or play, do you think of the LLM as having a gender?

@kbob@chaos.social I don't even consider LLM's as tools. But, in German, nouns have a gender. IIRC there is a kind of logic to it, but it's not always exactly obvious, at least to a Finn it isn't. And this poll made me wonder if all the tools belong to a certain gender in German or does it vary, and by what logic 😅

@kbob@chaos.social I guess my perspective isn't quite "tools do not have genders" ... it's more "things without a distinct and consistent personality do not have genders." LLMs will roleplay/claim to be any character you request or imply in your prompt. They don't have gender identity because they don't really have any identity at all.
