  @TrueNorthSpice@mastodon.world It’s just more of Poilievre’s consistent strategy, make an ignorant misinformed statement to find the Canadian’s either willfully ignorant or pathetically naive to give it credence. Herd this person into the media ecosystem that supports him. Continue to feed them ignorance anger and prejudice, monitor and automate to find just the right ugly spin to hold their attention and gain more support. He’s relied on that anger and outrage of the American right and spun this for Canadian outrage, but America outrage is becoming even too extreme for the angry ignorant Canadian. I suspect he wants Carney’s Europe integration to be successful in order to harness the European far right outrage and ignorance and respin to gain support in Canada. How many Canadians will take the bait?
