Quality Chinese SSDs really hit the market just in time. Samsung's cheapest readily-available 1TB NVMe is AU$350 here, while Fanxiang have comparable* 2TB SSDs for the same price. (Or 1TB for AU$200)
* The Samsung drive I'm talking about is TLC while Fanxiang's is QLC, and there are tradeoffs involved in that. But for a consumer wanting a boot drive for their personal PC, I don't think this matters.
