@colinstu@birdbutt.com Antix is surprisingly slow on this HP Chromebook 11A G8 EE (2016 netbook CPU, 4GB RAM, pulled from the e-wastes of my job), but I figure some of this might be because I enabled ZRAM and disk encryption. will also mention that disabling compositing on the default IceWM environment bumped ExtremeTuxRacer's performance from "kinda unplayable" to "basically alright" (full 1366x768 resolution for both). on my main laptop (early 2010s dualcore Thinkpad) I use it's cousin MX Linux instead

@moses_izumi@fe.disroot.org oh yeah, no encryption here!! a Debian/Antix upgrade with 1200 updates took like 1-2hrs on here. boot-up time is like 30-45s. I haven’t tried 3D gaming.. this thing only has a Matrox G200 in it.. (w/o the ram expansion). I’m *trying* to get a newer PCI card working in here, but it seems like Antix v26 needs SSE2 now?? or there’s some issue with this video driver w/newer card. May need to try the Matrox card again.
