About a year ago I started the process of switching over to linux. While using bazzite and @kde as desktop environment. One of the biggest points for me to switch over is because I do not want to have any fucking AI anywhere near my fucking computers. I write a blog that already gets overwhelmed by AI scrapers. I see all my engineering controbutions into green energy get fucking wrecked before my eyes. I am forced to use AI in my engineering work because apparantly thats 'productive' (It never is.) There are studies about the environmental effects. Studies about the effect on the human brain. I know many teachers who watch students who use AI/LLMs become notably less thoughtfull. The data centers fuck over anyone who tries to buy a computer. Especially minorities who appart from now suddenly not able to affort vital equiptment, have to deal with an datacenter being build in their back yard poluting in noise, air quality, and raising electricity prices. This for me was a main fucking drive to step away from windows, This is a main drive to make human made art. And yet here i am, having one of the things that i thought helped me. capitulate to the sloppening. you might say LLMs are a tool and they can be ethical. They might be, in some hypothetical future. But their are not now. These tools are run by poeple who support Fasiscm. Poeple who made donations to someone destroying trans (and later on queer) rights. These companies have trained data on CSAM material. The poeple running the LLMs are not concerned about humanity. They are concerned about an raise to the bottom, to try and out run in the hope they will be left standing when it bursts. I am really fucking tired of slop. I am tired of LLMs stealing all my pride. I am tired of my hobbies getting flooded by LLMs. I am tired of being a meat puppet. I am tired and disapointed. #KDE
