@m1ke @mnapoli it's only this year I've started using Claude. I'm seeing value already. Friday, it found a bug buried in my codebase. I gave it a 2 line prompt. It identified the bug within 4 mins of 'thinking'. I'd spent the best part of the day before looking for this bug without success. I'm getting much better at directing it to write code. I spend most of my time in plan mode. It then writes the code and, if I've paid attention in planning, the generated code needs very few changes.

    @DaveLiddament@phpc.social @m1ke@phpc.social @mnapoli@phpc.social hmm, "value" is a funny word for it. Try this: every time you use an LLM, imagine you just cut down an ancient oak instead. Yes I know they're not equivalent, but it reminds of the cost to humanity. If you don't give a shit about trees, maybe imagine all the stolen works that LLMs were trained on. That could've been your very own content, stolen without asking, and currently raking in billions for other people that aren't you.
