@coolboymew@shitposter.world @VD15@pl.valkyrie.world @branman@shitpost.cloud and by that I mean for everyone who posts Gaben memes or how great Valve is, they've never tried licensing the source engine and it didn't help because of Havok. It took a while for Steam to let anyone put games on there (first with greenlight and then $100), but the Source Engine is stuck in the past with licensing. You have to get ahold of the guy in Valve who does licensing (who is probably on at a very specific time) and then if you're lucky you have to do the whole thing about the pitch, how much money you have, etc. You can download the Unreal Engine with Visual Studio of all places and start making your game, which is why you only see the Source engine used with source mods, which is increasingly unpopular because the latest generation of TF2 "players" don't make games or even play TF2 half the time. Meanwhile there are tons of tutorials on "how to make UE game". Now with Source 2 they're missing the boat HARD because S&Box isn't even the same despite what some MBA they blindly worship who told them "ROBLOX IS BIG BRO" told them.
