@shayman@cosocial.ca @Strandjunker@mstdn.social on Apple products, at least, it's an auto-correction when you hit the hyphen key twice and then a letter or space bar (although @ivory@tapbots.social on macOS doesn't seem to honor that, or any of my other usual auto-corrections; no idea why)
