reia is curious :
married/engaged queer couples of fedi , how did you do proposing ? did you just completely skip that , did you go with something other than a diamond ring , what did you do ?
reia finds the concept of expensive diamond ring given to The Woman pretty stupid , theyre fragile , too expensive , only giving the non-proposing party the ring kinda has this patriarchal connotation of "youre The Woman in this relationship" which uhh . no thanks . it generally all feels so very tainted by patriarchy , heteronormativity , and capitalism .... so it is very curious to know other ways that you came up with , or heard about being done !!
[ again, boosts much appreciated :3 ]

@reia@linfan.moe So… We just kinda went “hey so, marriage, right? what rings should we get?” We originally wanted Titanium with sapphire or ruby (one person gets a sapphire and one a ruby) and we’d just use those as wedding rings too. Sadly the manufacturer doesn’t seem to sell alternate gems anymore cuz we both really liked that idea. We also decided that the point where we could comfortably afford those rings would also be when we marry, as a celebration of gaining said financial stability.
