@kauer@aus.social @slothrop@chaos.social @MelissaBearTrix@gives.hugz.online yes, we didn't have any trans movement, when young, but there were still echoes of hippie era, and there was prolonged cultural war for right of boys and men to wear long hair (but not women clothing, there was no gender meaning - just revolt against uniformity and conformity). I just did not like having my hair cut, even in childhood. I was maybe "misgendered" once or twice when very young, but not when teen or older, of course. The change of perception of these things between generations is definitely interesting. I gave up very long hair for practical reasons. But it was never gender issue... rather something like right of men to express individuality. More about feeling natural and not overcivilized: grow long hair, smoke weed...
