and of course not everything is entirely realistic. like, the fact that her middle school life had an all-girls love square and two of them actually ended up dating? incredibly unlikely. :D the fact that her Japanese parents were both supportive of her being queer? also very unlikely, unfortunately

you know, I’d be kinda interested in some proper comedies that are still primarily comedies but also a bit more realistic about queer issues, and give the relationships some serious development. WataNare isn’t the worst about some of those things, but it is notoriously all „girls being into girls is treated as a societal non-issue, while three girls dating is viewed as an irredeemable sin“ 😅
