@dj@parcero.casa What type of programs do you miss? #OBS for example is available in repository but I still take from #flatpak . Same with #Linphone and #Nextcloud as they are more up-to-date than in repository. So I grab the AppImage file for them. To start them, I e.g. wrote this mini shell script:
#!/bin/sh
umount ${TMP}/.mount_linpho* 2>&1
rm -rfv ${TMP}/.mount_linpho*
screen -dmS linphone $(which linphone)
And I don't have to worry again about it that there might be some old mounted AppImage files left.

@roland The appimages not integrating into menu was one quirk. The helper programs like appimage launcher only work with systemd. They create menu icons and auto update them. So it was more about that not being an option. I don't hate flatpaks, it's easier to use actually.
