No product is free, if you don’t pay anything, you are the product being sold. You ‘pay’ these companies by providing them with training data for their LLMs / you are the thing they are trained on. You as a user provide an endless supply of metadata they can sell. Just don’t use the slop bot, it’s literally as easy as that.
