okay so, I've been kinda neglecting my headphone setup as of late and want to change this I currently have my desktop DAC and amp hooked up to my nvidia shield, but that's getting less usage than I'd hoped because its not super convenient. I want to change this. As I see it, I have 4 options (ascending order of investment) move stack back to desk ($free) + free + can then also use headphones for gaming and such - actually less convenient so probably wouldn't actually solve my problem get something to hook my phone / old phone up to current setup as DAP (€50 maybe? not sure) + convenient + can keep it in the current place which is good - not sure what I'd even need to get for this... A sort of charger/usb hub hybrid? So basically a small laptop dock? Bluetooth adapter (€not sure but probably less than 100?) + even more convenient than above - Bluetooth is annoying sometimes - Slight loss of audio quality, though with something like LDAC HQ that's not super noticeable sell my current setup and buy a dedicated DAP (€multi 100) + most convenient + portable - probably slight downgrade in quality or really fucking expensive - most expensive idk there's something to be said for all of these options, does anyone have opinions here?

@syn@plasmatrap.com My 2 cents as a big enjoyer of audio equipment. Get a dedicated DAP. A lot of them also have bluetooth and desktop DAC functionality (e.g. FiiO's DAPs all have this) It has genuinely been worth it and I take this thing EVERYWHERE. Having my music away from my phone is genuinely so nice. That said, Only half of my library is on my DAP (about 500GB of almost pure flac) On the other hand, Mia has a dual setup (DAP for mobile, DAC+Amp for at desk) also based on my recommendation. Especially If you already have the DAC and amp, I'd suggest to keep it for @ home. If you want a recommendation, I have spent far too much time selecting mine, so feel free to ask. Just gimme a budget (200 Euro is about the minimum and it's what I paid) and I'll point you in a direction.
