One way I could imagine is via the router and the computers MAC-address (which identifies hardware): telling it to firewall it from the internet, but allow access to the LAN (local home network).

@Nihils @Endof10 Yes, I expect there is such a mechanism. What is needed is a tool with an understandable interface, that can just set that up. I'm happy with editing the registry, but surely someone has written something to do it......
