BYD claims a contractor mishandled equipment and ignited insulation material, which sparked the greater incident. Others speculate that a faulty battery was the source of the fire. Nobody is talking about body panels... and a faulty electric motor definitely *can* start a fire. Nobody knows for certain yet, so I don't know why you're painting such a strong narrative... other than to antagonize BYD with sensationalism.
