@livho@tech.lgbt @BabyFn0rd@tech.lgbt Of course! It was a decision based on the question, how do I identify personally, culturally, at the core of my casual irl presentation? Does the answer align to the present server? This is my 2nd year transitioning, I'm more than six months in DIY HRT. A lot has changed since then, and I look forward to transitioning further; socially, medically. Recently I moved to my first ever solo flat. In the course of moving I noticed having too much gear I don't feel connected to anymore. Which represents a life I don't live anymore. It takes up physical and mental space now reserved for a different life. I'm not that techy anymore to call myself just that. That said, staying on tech.lgbt would turn out pretentious. I turn my mental panorama on being more upfront and courageous in presenting the transfeminine me, outside of academia in my paid labour spaces. More of my academic work accounts for queer and feminist theory, and I look forward to get deeper into that. Turning theory into practice, community and field work. Hence, I wanted to join a server whose representation supports this notion/feeling, my ongoing transition, right there in its domain name. So there's my typical AuDHS trans* infodump ... :diakkoHug: ... and thanks for asking! Because it made me reflect and formalise this over again, concluding it was the right thing to do.
