When you buy a copy of a book you love, do you try to get the same edition as the one you first read? Even if that was a cheap paperback? #poll #bookstodon

@petes_bread_eqn_xls@mastodo.neoliber.al It depends on how I appreciated the edition. There are two books I read that were fancy editions, and I absolutely don't want to buy these editions even if I liked what I read. The first was a "luxury" reprint that was too heavy and poorly done (bad adhesive used, it started to lose pages and its fancy ribbon). I'm on the lookout for an older paperback. The second was an anthology of seven novels. I'd like to find them in individual books because a 1200+ pages book is absolutely not something I like if not necessary. But the cheap paperback edition of Bilbo from my childhood? I have it twice, I adore its illustrations and that's the version I want to show my kids.
