A false stereotype that drives me nuts is that city people are less in touch with the outdoors than countryside people.
I cycle to work every day, dropping off the Hobbit at daycare ok the way. It’s just under 7km all in all. It’s a distance that many people in cities do without it being remarkable. But out here in the middle of the countryside, people are astonished every time I mention it.
“But not when it rains, right?”
“I bet you use the car in winter!”
