@leeloo@c.im @TechTangents@dialup.space Kinda both, Google serves a different page (or maybe redirects, IDK now) depending on the UA string. DuckDuckGo does the same. And when the UA guesswork fails, you might end up with a page you can't use.
There is still reCAPTCHA which is IIRC unpleasant to use on dumb browsers. (Note that my experience is outdated by many years, as I don't use Google.)
IIRC there was even a SSL-less version of Google, but I guess it's dead.
