I felt far safer giving my address to strangers on forums on that Internet than I do giving literally any information to Meta today.

@violet@sunny.garden yes absolutely i was basically raised by college students on the internet making places where I, a young child, could go be myself in the 90s. Those strangers knew intimate details of my life for decades and never once did I have cause to regret it.
